Title: Starting again Post by: elv on March 18, 2007, 05:34:53 PM Hi guys,
Know its been awhile, just havent been making music for all this time.Guess I lost a litle bit interst for awhile. Here is a small snippet on the song I am working on at the moment.Called Sunday Seems to be my new directions, chilled ambient ....hehe I´m at so much inner peace ::) For those that are interested in my stuff here is a link to another song I did last week called Layers http://www.wusik.com/song.php?id=1499 Love to hear your opinions Title: Re: Starting again Post by: kara on March 18, 2007, 05:44:48 PM Layers : Lovely intro, I like that glazy piano sound. I would have loved that the song gets of a bit earlier after the drum comes in, but it worth waiting , nice bass riff.
Surprising change of rythm around 3, sounds very good and focusses the attention. Lovely song, you should make more of those :) Sunday : Good foundation, looking forward to finished version. Kara Title: Re: Starting again Post by: Equinox Sounds on March 18, 2007, 06:37:46 PM I like this track, it's very nice and dreamy. ;)
Title: Re: Starting again Post by: emdot_ambient on March 18, 2007, 10:11:43 PM Love the piano-pad transitions, almost like the piano's release morphs into the pad's attack. I think I'm with Kara in that after the drums come in, things need to progress a bit faster, either that or the drum track needs to be presented in parts rather than all together. The drums are a bit loud, don't you think? It would also be tempting for me to take some of the drum sounds now and then and throw some dub-like effect on them to re-enforce the dreamy, trippy quality and to tie them a bit more to the underlying pads.
I know, you said it's a work in progress. Great start! Title: Re: Starting again Post by: Ed on March 19, 2007, 12:17:25 AM "layers" great chords elv
peaceful groove, sounds like a cool place to be Title: Re: Starting again Post by: elv on March 19, 2007, 08:28:27 PM Thanks for listening and your input.
Yeah the drums are a wee bit loud in Layers, and the dub effect would suit it well Title: Re: Starting again Post by: one on March 20, 2007, 01:21:56 AM Hi elv
AWESOME! Great feeling... I like how thoughtful it is. Nice Beatz.. Glad yer working again Don't ferget I need a tune from you for my next record!! Why does it end so abruptly at 2:37? 1 :) Title: Re: Starting again Post by: elv on March 20, 2007, 09:33:30 PM Well it isnt finished One ;)
New version up ...see first post Title: Re: Starting again Post by: Marc JX8P on March 23, 2007, 05:24:39 PM I love the piano chords, not sure if the piano arpeggio down works; the timing is nice but in my view it conflicts a bit with the rhythms. Talking about the rhythms, cool! They have a nice crisp sound and work really well. Nice chord progressions too and the song has nice variation. You have created a nice mix too with a very open sound in which all the elements come through. Very nice!

many good elements in this track, I like how the instruments comes in, perfect timing... Oh yes it's called intro... The tension grows and then comes a full force rhythm. Very nice Keep on Cheers Title: Re: Starting again Post by: elwoodblues1969 on August 21, 2007, 01:24:39 AM Elv,
With regard to the drums coming in earlier-as per Kara's wish,I don't agree with that. I think the intro is interesting enough with it's length and it set's up the mood of the song beautifully. :) Ambient & trance songs are generally constructed differently than conventional pop songs anyway-that being said,I think the song is perfect. Overall,it's a very seductive, relaxing song that put's my mind in the clouds hovering over Iceland. 8) Elwood Title: Re: Starting again Post by: elv on August 21, 2007, 01:25:08 PM Thanks Elwood,
Personally I was never happy with this song, hate the organ like sound Title: Re: Starting again Post by: folderol on August 29, 2007, 08:30:19 PM I especially like 'Layers' It's going straight into my 'keep' folder!
Incidentally, my player doesn't show any id3 tags for it, and I always like to be able to see at least some composer info - cos I forget easily ::) Title: Re: Starting again Post by: elv on August 31, 2007, 09:40:30 AM Thanks folderol,
:-\ I have to fix those tags, I hate that Fl dosent have them, so I always have to edit them in another program....and sometimes I forget Title: Re: Starting again Post by: MarioD on September 08, 2007, 01:33:02 AM Another great song of yours looking for a movie, possibly a James Bond type movie!
Great piano, pad and bass work. The drums ain’t to shabby either! Fantastic ending - MarioD |
