Title: My attemp at house Post by: elv on April 09, 2007, 10:14:53 PM For some reason I started a house track, really dont know why as I am not a fan of the genre and have to knowlege of it.
Good or bad, are there any house heads here. http://www.wusik.com/song.php?id=1527 Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: one on April 10, 2007, 03:14:46 AM Hi elv
Um I don't know house from trance but this is pretty cool dance music! Fun tune but you need some chick moaning to really sell it ;) 1 :) Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: Laguna Rising on April 10, 2007, 09:02:56 PM Hi Elv
I'm not a dance-music expert, but I like it. Drums and bass-line sounds pretty standard as in many dance tracks. You laid down good melodies and the sounds you used are working great together. Cheers Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: kara on April 11, 2007, 11:17:32 AM Defintifly old house style here.
You nailed the style very well. The Eb -Db chord combination is frequently used in House music Swithcing to minor of this chords between bar 15 and 40 isn't a great idea for dance music. Minor chords gives a rather sad mood to the listener and you don't want that if you want people to dance. Same remark starting at bar (around) 90 But I'm not a house specialist, just typed this while listening to the song Kara Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: elv on April 13, 2007, 07:10:15 PM Thanks for listenig guys.
And thanks for the comments. Kara for some reason I have alwaysed like minor notes/chord. Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: kara on April 13, 2007, 07:37:26 PM . Kara for some reason I have alwaysed like minor notes/chord. Nothing wrong with that And it's your song, you're the boss :) Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: blipp on April 14, 2007, 04:41:41 PM Hi elv. Long time no speak. Great to see you here. ;D
This is a nice house track. I used to listen to quite a lot of house in the early 90's and this brings back some memories of that. Love the groove and bas lines espescially. Good one. :) Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: magmavander on May 05, 2007, 09:32:59 PM Hi elv,
strange to hear House from you ;D This is very well done, clean and punchy. The bass synth may use some more sliding between notes here and there maybe, not sure... Classic and solid. Enjoyed, thanks!! bye mag Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: elv on May 06, 2007, 11:52:06 AM Thanks for listening magma.
Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: Northern_Fist on May 13, 2007, 09:05:33 PM I normally listen to trance as far as EDM is concerned, but this is pretty dope. Punchy drums, freaky leads, and a pad machine that rocks your socks. Some of the sounds give me an air of video-game chip tunes more than others, but I wonder if that wasn't planned, cuz it does create a nifty atmosphere.

I don't know House, but I like your song. I like the minor chords a lot. They just have a certain feeling to them. Wyatt Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: elv on May 24, 2007, 08:38:14 PM Thanks for listening guys,
Title: Re: My attemp at house Post by: sabotai on June 24, 2007, 10:36:13 PM Hi,
I think you did a good job getting the sound you were aiming for. Interestingly, while the drums and bassline were the most prominent, they were not as interesting as the other stuff in the track, which was quite interesting. I have a few suggestions: Create some movement in the bassline by altering the timbre of it as the song progresses. Sure tweaking the freq cutoff and resonance is over-done, but my ears got tired of the same sound and those kind of changes over time can really help. You can also change the envelope settings. I also think the snare sound was a bit mushy for that style. I think I would have preferred a more "crisp" snare hit. I really have to get back on so many tunes and fix them |
