You have a couple of great hardware synths in your studio 8) k Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: jura on August 02, 2007, 01:57:27 PM lndeed, great sounds and sonic quality.
Thanks for sharing such nice ambient piece. es Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: magikroom on August 02, 2007, 02:38:44 PM Thanks Guys...Been out of doing Music for quite a while with work and everything and just trying to get back into it. I've attached a track that I'm currently 'trying' to work on...only a minute or so...don't know whether to abandon it or not...wouldn't mind knowing your opinion.
Cheers Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: jura on August 02, 2007, 03:54:12 PM Go on. It's super. Let rhythm flow and record over it. Don't worry about what people say and let your message to be heard.

Very much like the track. You develop it well. The begining is quite reminiscent of Pink Floyd's 'The Machine'. Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: magikroom on August 02, 2007, 06:37:42 PM Nice studio <sniff><envy> ;D Very much like the track. You develop it well. The begining is quite reminiscent of Pink Floyd's 'The Machine'. It's funny that, you're not the first to say that it sounds like 'Floyd' but I don't know the track etc...Guess we only have 12 notes per Octave to play with and things may sound similar...,weird that! Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: elv on August 16, 2007, 01:27:33 PM Thats just plain evil posting that pic of your studio---envy as hell---
I like the track and the sound are really good, this is a keeper Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: folderol on August 16, 2007, 08:49:56 PM I like this a lot. There is a definite Pink Floyd flavour to it, and maybe some Tangerine Dream - while of course it is 100% magikroom :)
Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: elwoodblues1969 on August 17, 2007, 03:26:05 PM Hello Magikroom,
That's quite a hardcore studio set up you have there! Also of course, some equally stellar songs you've done-quite an accomplishment.Your very talented and I must say-with regard to your second song, you are always your own worst critic as we all are when we judge our own creations. The second piece you did is flawless and it would be ludicrous to abandon it! Roll with it man,-roll with it & let it flow like a twig on the shoulders of a mighty stream. Cheers, Elwood Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: magikroom on August 17, 2007, 04:02:51 PM Thanks guys, it means a great deal to have your opinion, which is why I posted it...Been having difficulty getting back into Music for many reasons that I won't bore you with...and I'm sorry elv about adding a picture...didn't mean to cause any envy...just been doing for many years and have probably owned 20+ different synths in my time. I've tried the Soft Synth set up and to be honest, can't get on with it...apart from a few exceptions. I'll post a more up to date photo as i've changed a few bits...plus I have 3 synths lying around as I don't have the room. Gear a side though, your point about being your own worst critic is so true, its got to a point where I don't have any ideas left...but then again i've had a few changes going on in the past couple of years that have affected my creativity...slowly trying to get back into it and find my passion for Music...maybe a collaboration with someone might get the 'creative' juices flowing!
Cheers Jamie Title: Re: The Genius of Mania Post by: magikroom on September 18, 2007, 02:29:57 PM Just thought I'd post a link to a site i'm on with some of my old tunes and the ones I've posted here. Not quite ambient as I like to change styles, but have a listen guys. Keep up the good work Elwood and ELV!

nice ambient track here, I enjoyed it. Many different sounds and good taste in arrangements, the intelligent use of drums is important for the final result. Very good quality music I look forward for the finished version of the 2nd track Cheers |
