Title: Famidrums: NES/Nintendo Drum Machine Post by: SampleScience on October 12, 2016, 01:07:05 AM (https://archive.org/download/famidrums/Famidrums%20Product%20Image%20400px.jpg)
New plugin from SampleScience! :) This time, it's a Nintendo sound chip drum machine featuring the sound of classic drum machines (mostly analog ones) and obscure games. Quote Famidrums is a sample based drum machine featuring the sounds of the Nintendo Entertainment System sound chip (more precisely, its DPCM sampler and triangle/noise oscillators). The drum sounds included have been extracted from games while others have been converted using classic analog drum machines as source. Accurate software emulation of the NES sound chip has been used to get that original crunchy drum sounds typical of classic games such as Super Mario Bros 3, Lifeforce, Super C and Kid Icarus. Audio demos: https://soundcloud.com/samplesciencemtl/sets/famidrums-audio-demos (https://soundcloud.com/samplesciencemtl/sets/famidrums-audio-demos) Features: • 30 8 bit Drum Kits • Audio multi-outputs • LFO, trim, reverb and pitch effects • VSTi/AUi for Windows (32 bit/64 bit) and Mac OSX (Universal) • Plain wav files to use in any sampler (16 bit, 240 samples) Introductory price: 9.99$ (will be 14.99$ October 18th 12:00PM Eastern Time) For more info + download: SampleScience (http://www.samplescience.ca/2016/10/famidrums.html) Questions you might have: 1. Aren't the games drum sounds copyrighted? Only the sampled drum sounds found on the DPCM track (NES sound chip "sampler"). The synthesis sounds generated by the sound chip are not. 2. How did you got the classic drum machine sounds in the NES sound chip. I've used an accurate emulation of the sound chip and re-sampled the classic drumbox sounds using it. Note that most of the hi hats samples from the classic drum machines have been replaced by synthetic hi hats because the 1-bit NES sound chip sample player introduced too much noise in them. |
