Who? Me?

Last month I sent James a brief idea excerpt that I'd been playing about with. he liked the guitar, liked the chords and hated the synth sounds I'd used Roll Eyes

He was of course right about the synth. It was quite unsuitable for the embryonic tune. Indeed, it could easily have killed the development of the idea Roll Eyes

Well after that we bounced ideas off each other. I developed several verses and choruses, and James filled in with his usual rather tasty guitar backing and whistle.

Today I've just completed the final mix, which I've attached as an ogg file. Rather to my surprise the mp3 version comes out to well over 8MB, so if anyone particularly wants that one let me know and I'll email it.

Anyway,  we hope you enjoy your glass of
Red Wine

If you have a poem, I have a tune, and we exchange these, we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.

MAGNIFIQUE  J'ADORE wOO wOO wOO
very nice composition. I love the guitar and flute. Very nostalgic to the point that I remembered a song of my childhood which here is the link:

There are some nice melodies and passages in this tune, but because of it's length,I am left with a feeling that something is missing...such as vocals, perhaps.

Thank you everyone for your comments.

Thank you for that link Azell. A very emotive performance of a classic.
Merci pour cette Azell lien. Une performance très émotive d'un classique.

Thom, we did consider adding vocals, and one or two other ideas, but eventually settled on the thought that less is more. However an less length would mean we would have to throw away part of the melody!

An absolutely perfect blend from two professional musicians. Will, your choice of synth sounds was spot on and James that was some fine guitar and whistle work.

Two thumbs up.
