Maybe an appropriate follow up to MartinE's Goddess in that it was partially inspired by movies of years gone by. The post war era with the emphasis on tough detectives and tougher bad guys. But it's not meant to be exactly in that style, rather a memory of it, done with synths and samples from this millennium.

Interesting track especially with the offbeat drums.
Not an easy to mix tough, some synths take a lot of space there.
The brass section at the end sounds a bit drowned in the mix for me?
The lead line could perhaps be a bit upfront ?

Good song, thanks for sharing

Hi
I agree with Kara this is a very crowded mix, many things going on. a difficult one.
All the sounds you choose blends in very well
Very original composition, I like it. Nice inspiration.

Cheers

Excellent cinematic theme music...very melancholy cocktail lounge music-very nice!

This really would be a superb piece if the mix was cleaned up a bit.

Thanks for the comments!
It is a crowded mix. My intention was to have a lot going on so that each time you listen to it, a different voice might stand out as the lead.

I liked this a lot - lovely late night feel and a great-sounding sax. I'd agree with Kara that the brass towards the end could be a bit more upfront, but even so it's a very nice piece. Thanks for sharing.

Very good composition.
The mood of a film noir is captured very well. I can see Humphry Bogart stumbling about after a heavy night on the town.

The mix is not as much crowded I think but a bit muddy. Some of the synth sounds could do with some eq-ing. Filter out the mud. Highpass from 100 Hz. Maybe cut around 200 Hz as well. It will clean up the mix for sure.
