Not sure if this classifies as Jazz, but it has a bit of that Mission Impossible/Oceans 11 vibe to be. In any case, this is some music I did a while ago with a friend of mine (Percy TKNX from the KvR forum, we work together as 87pm.music). Hope you enjoy them, let us know what you think!

Cheers,

Marc

Cool beat demo : Great ! Who is playing that bass, he knows what he is doing! Lovely groove

Cool beat atmo : Sorry again I don't agree with the bass player, beginning is nice but at 0:35 he realy has to kick in Cheesy

I'm puzzled.

Two very good tracks, although not really what I'm into, but as Kara said, one has a very good bass line the other is poor.

How is that?

An interesting difference of opinion here, I like the way the bass contrasts the rest of the melodies myself.

And that's no bass player (at least, not in the instrument sense) but just me. Although the bass loop in the cool beat demo is Percy and me both, playing simultaneously in a monophonic patch.

Aaah..yes! Love the spy theme stuff & it never gets old.The bass in the first song is wonderfully raw & stout..beautiful. Cool
The variations are seamless & holds the listener's fascination.
The Cool Beats Demo is a five star score.

The second song does not do anything for me,especially in contrast to hearing the first.

Thanks! I have to say that the bass part in the first one is special to me too, especially considering the way it was done.

Good quality stuff, Marc.
Great build in the 1st one, (and I can't avoid to mention the superb bass line  Grin), nice construction work
I like the 2nd very much although it sounds as it lacks a stronger lead or focal point, everything works fine so far, and I like the thick atmosphere and the good blend of sounds.

Cheers

Thanks! The tracks were originally developed as background music for a presentation, hence the lack of things like solos (we thought it would make them stand out too much) but I can imagine that we'll expand on them at one point, putting stuff like solos back in there. It was really hard to actually refrain from opening a synth lead patch and playing away at some moments... Smiley

Two nice tracks, Marc. I don't have a problem with the bass in the second track. It creates a kind of tension and that's never a bad thing. Always creating fulfillment isn''t what music is about. Actually these two tunes remind me a bit of some instrumental Simple Minds stuff. The album New Gold Dream. Is that a strange comparison, you think?

Thanks Martin! I don't know much Simple Minds, so I can't compare those.

Cool beat atmo is good, but cool beat rocks. It really does capture that MI motion very well. Excellent piece of work!!
