Just a (cheezy) lovesong, with piano, strings etc...
Oh, and it's another attempt at singing by myself ;-)

All comments and suggestions appreciated!

I very much enjoyed listening to this. But (there always is one isn't there) I have a few comments to make.

First, I think it would benefit from a short intro. You are singing before your listener has really settled to the style.

Second, I think the piano is too loud. It is quite hard to hear your singing in places. Possibly also try adding a small amount of treble lift to the vocal at around 3-5kHz to give it a bit more 'detail'

Finally, I get the impression you are not comfortable singing, and are quite possibly singing too quietly and hesitantly. Are you working in an environment where you can easily be overheard? I know that would inhibit me.

Overall I like the song. It has a good story, and is well arranged overall.

Good compo Fred !
I could add something about the singing  Wink
You are a musician and you sing as a musician, this means i can simply HEAR you concentrating on 'I have to hold that note right....'. This so heavy concentration can simply be heard when you're singing, yes it is right and on tone, but sounds a bit scholar. Loosen up a bit, don't worry how you sing and it'll sound way better

Just try it and you'll see it works  Cool

Hi Frederik
This is a nice composition, and I like it.
Apart from some stiffness you're a pretty good singer Grin
Good melodies and nice arrangements with strings and piano
is there muddiness sometimes in the lower notes of the piano or is it just softness of the sound ?

Very good song
Cheers

Yes, charming song. Your singing isn't that bad, but I too feel a kind of stiffness. First believe what you sing, know what you sing and let it out... And don't be shy cause your singing isn't bad at all !

Very nice song.....and, as another non-singer, I identify with your problems!!
Good try.

Thanks for all your kind and encouraging comments!

Maybe I'll have a drink or two before I try singing something again, just to loosen me up a bit ;-)

see you around,

This is a lovely song and I enjoyed it a lot. Very good melody and arrangement, and nice piano playing. As others have said the singing felt a bit stiff, but I imagine that will improve as you do more singing and become more confident about it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi F,

charming song  Smiley I liked it a lot. What I noticed about the vocals is that the back vocal sounds very interesting. The front vocal needs more freedom I agree but here and there your voice is really good, with a lot of feel. Yes, maybe you should try to sing drunk  Grin

Thanks!

bye

Hi Frederik!

FM summed up my thoughts quite well. Although, hats off for putting up your vocal. I could/would never try that. Then again, you sing quite a bit better than I do.
