Great ! Don't worry dates are fixed and won't change. let me know at what time you arrive in Brussels, I'll organize it from there k Right, decision made. I will definitely be coming to the live gig (baring rail-strikes etc.) I'll be getting my Eurostar tickets at the end of the month, or beginning of August, so nobody change the dates after that P.S. Guess I'll have to get a new pair of carpet slippers

Things are looking a bit more positive. Advice needed > As I am not a traveller (only been outside the UK once), can anyone tell me if there are restrictions on carrying items such as microphones/cables/tuners/electronic equipment in hand luggage. This is in respect of Eurostar. I am hoping to be able to squeeze acoustic and electric guitar into one case and put all the above mentioned kit in my carpet slippers in my hand luggage. James

I'm not aware of any restrictions. I think you can have two items of luggage plus one small hand luggage. These don't have to be checked in at all unless they are exceptionally large.
I've once traveled with a fully loaded large rucksack and nobody said a word - was a few years ago though. I rather suspect that if you don't say anything, neither will they!

ok, we have to agree about a key for the song. For the bass it isn't 'realy' important, you know we just slide fingers up or down a fret Grin Azell can sing in 'almost' any key, Bm is fine but allso Am, and Am is an easy key for keyboard players, I think I've never played a song in Bm on a keyboard...
I think what is important are the penny whistles of James, I know that you can't play in any key on those....
James ?
k
Bm or Am. I can work with either. James I've copied this across to here because I think it's the right place for it now! I don't know who else will be at the gig who has an opinion but I'd prefer Am - just because it's easier This all makes me wonder of there are any other tunes that we might especially want to look at. We won't have a great deal of time so having some ideas before we start might be a 'good thing' (tm)

I have one set up. For the sake of secrecy I have a download link for the prototype song, so if any *travellers* want to join in this one send me a PM. James

A question about kit. It's been many, many years since I did any live gigging so am not up to speed on the type of kit that you have available. At home I do all my recording through a small Behringer mixer. Acoustic guitars/bass/whistles are all through mics into the mixer (one at a time). Electric guitars/bass/keyboards are direct input through the mixer. Simply....if I bring acoustic guitar and mic, will this go straight into your mixing equipment or do I need to bring my mixer too? If I bring electric guitar, would this go into anything you have there or do I need to bring an amp (or the mixer as a d/i box) which can be mic'd up? James

For accoustic you don't have to bring anything, beside instrument, I have 3 mic's, which should be enough I think. For electric, I have a small (old) Crate guitar amplifier, it doesn't do wonders but it works Don't forget cables, we are allways short in cables Mixing is not an issue, i have 2 mixers. k

We won't have a great deal of time so having some ideas before we start might be a 'good thing' (tm) ok, then it will be Am (do you have chord chart ?) As for other songs I have a couple propositions. For saterday I propose that we start with a couple of covers to warm up - Since we ruined the recording of 'House of the rising sun' on the 87PM concert, I propose we redo this one. I think everybody knows this one (it's in AM). We could even make a mixed lanuage version English - French (James - Azell). In case somebody doesn't know the song, I can send a midi file. - Azell would like to record 'Mamy blue'. Same story, 2 possibilities, James lead vocals and Azell second voice, or otherway around. If you don't know the song, you can find it on youtube (in english and in french ( http://fr.youtube.com/results?search_query=mamy+blue&search_type=) It's a very easy song to play and if you want I can post a midi file of it. - We would allso like to record another french song with you guys, I'll send the midi file here when I'm back home. Saterday evening I hope that 87PM will give an extract of there live concert And eventually a demo by Marc of Kore 2 which he knows very well. Sunday - Folderoll song with lyrics - James song (can you send me something ?) What do you think of this ? k
