The only "real" instruments there are bass and guitar. Moog is from Asynth and mellotrons from tapeworm Wink

hey man, whats up
you know this sounds a bit like some old Genesis, Trespass maybe
great alternative timing changes
that tapeworm sounds pretty good I use the nanotron, I'll have to give that one a try
dig the drums and your git tone
excellent there nik hackett, I can see this being 7min thing...although you'll need a synth guy to get that moog in motion Grin

be in touch

sure man. When I was doing that crappy solo I thought you were my man for this but didn't ask you to because: a) I did kinda collaborative entries for the previous two months (friends doing vocals) and b) I thought it'd be a hell to collaborate using different hosts while there were 4/4 and 11/4 alternating time sigs on this one. I'm very happy you liked the sounds. Have a beer Wink

PS nanotron you said ... (/goes to check it)

Yeah, Zoey, I think you got most of the intro done  Wink Grin

Cool stuff, 70's prog vibe for sure. Great job with that! A good listen for me....I love me some prog now and then (or most of the time Wink)

Aren't odd meters fun?

Thanx for taking the time to listen and comment Fred. Some prog from time to time doesn't hurt. Same goes for time sig oddities

btw you got my nickname misspelled, but you can call me Nikos if it's easier for you Wink

Thanx 1
Nanotron ain't bad either (thanx Ed for reminding me that sweet little plug)
tbh I've never been a huge prog rock fan but it seems that all those influences from back then work subconciously.

Well you may not be a big prog rock fan but I think you nailed it pretty well in this piece.
Prog Rock is not my style either though Fred drags me into it sometimes.  Grin

Nice mellotronish sounds. Have to check out those vst's as well though I do have the M-tron.

I commented already in the KvR forum, but still - this is too good a track to not say anything about.

Great stuff - I love the mellotron sound and the searing guitar and how the arrangement progresses from one section to the next. The sound is Pink Floyd-y to me (I think mainly due to the pitch bended notes and the guitar play). Oh - and the hammond organ is wonderful too.

Only thing - the track is about eight minutes too short... Wink

Thanx Martin. Your guitar playing and sound is great. I 'd like to know the setup you use for guitar recording (talking bout refugee - gotta post my thoughts in your thread)

@Mark: thanx for the double comment. Your submission in KvR is one of my favorites but since I won't have time to write reviews for all entries I prefer to not write at all. Hope you understand

Thanks! No problem at all - I quite agree; if I hadn't time to review all tracks in the competition I'd have done none too. In fact, some months when there are 70-80 tracks or so I really wish I hadn't written those first few reviews... Cheesy

Hi Zeoy
This is a nice track. And it shines into the Kvr contest Jungle for being one of the most realistic prog music examples. It is closer than others to the original mood and style of the 70's progressive bands, imo.
The choice of sounds and playing style is excellent. This is based on a good melody, and I like the changing rhythm, and both drums and bass are mixed in the way they used to.
Excellent productions and good inspiration.

Cheers
