Contest time again at Kaviar.
I used tracks from 3 of the 4 submitted midi-files, 'composed' it, wrote some goth lyrics, sang and added a nice quirky noise from my beloved Karinox.
The song is dedicated to Matt aka Knockman and Scott Walker.

I used midi-file 1 as a rhythmic bed and added tracks from file 2 and 4. File 3 inspired the title.
Yeah, i wanted to write something dark (but not too serious); therefore it's dedicated to Knockman and Scott Walker and i gave my vocals some knocky touch .

That whole "contest" thing sticks in my craw. The song has merit in its own right.
I sometimes wonder about the people who set themselves up as "judges" or "experts". Seems beside the point somehow.

The contest is an ambigue experience.
I've learned a lot there musically (how to improve things, how to provoke people, how to destroy clichés etc.) and personally (how to stand criticism and encouragement, how to be more patient, how to build up an image etc.).
On the other hand, you can get lost there and confound the musicians' world in the net with the world outside.
We shouldn't take these contests too seriously, but they have a certain influence on us.
Most important: I have contact with a lot of very interesting and nice people. Some of them i know personally now and we became friends. I don't want to sound too pathetically now, but friendship is the most important thing in the world, imo.

...and 'Rosamunde'? I simply like it.
