Some time ago I bought a 30 year old acoustic twelve string, Hagstrom B120, known for their playability, durability and sound. I'm very happy with it. This song was based on a riff I came up with on this particular guitar. More guitars and two instances of the M-tron and three instances of the Firebird completed the tune. Mighty Kingdom? Well I've been watching this serial called "Rome" with my son. 27/4 Uploaded a new version which sounds a bit more crispy. Didn't like the first master on second listening http://www.martin-e-music.nl/mp3/mightykingdom.mp3

Hi Martin I like the vocals in this track, (particularly chorus melody), nice arrangements and great 70's style sounds. Nice touch on guitar, good playing
Cheers

Martin,
..this is purely nice! I really like how smooth and sweet it is.
..good balance, pretty melody, and luscious vocal harmonies on this one..
..not to mention the guitar work..yes!
Thanks for sharing that,
Wyatt

Hi Martin! Cool Martin! Your Hagstrom(s) sound quite nice. Like the M-tron following the vocal melody, and the tune evolves beautifully after 3:00....excellent outro. The chorus is almost score-ish for something like Rome. Immaculate vocals per usuall. A great listen!!! Mighty Kingdom? Well I've been watching this serial called "Rome" with my son.
Quite popular series here in the States. Comes on a premium channel (read; pay extra for it) in the "Home Box Office" lineup.

Martin, Great stuff, this. I agree, that 70's sound is fantastic. You must have been there too! Vocals made me think of the Byrds featuring Gerry Rafferty. Brilliant production!! God, I am SO envious of Singers. James

Hi, guys. Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed it.
As for the seventies sound. I was really aiming for that Moody Blues mellotron sound. I think it turned out pretty well
Hey James. Your not the first to compare my vocals with Gerry Rafferty.
Thanks again

Hi Martin, This is another great song from you. The mellotron does capture that 70's moody blues vibe. I liked the pysychadelic sounding lead guitar a lot. The instrumental break at around 2:00 min is especially nice. Excellent track with great melodies and production.

As usual I just type while listening. I hear a drum with a pan that is spread to wide, doesn't sound very natural. I know that there is some theory about panning of drums, but that tom is really to much to the right. It disturbs the stereo field to much. End of critics A great song, and I love the vox, how do you do this, did you record your voice twice in a different key or you use some tool ?

It disturbs the stereo field to much. As far as I'm concerned there's no theory involved in panning the drums wide. I just like drums to be spread wide. It gives a bigger sound to the whole song in my opinion. But hey what do I know. A great song, and I love the vox, how do you do this, did you record your voice twice in a different key or you use some tool ? You probably talking about the high and low part in the first part of the song which is sung in an octave. Well that's my natural singing voice though I usually do not sing such low parts. The only part that's not natural are two voices in the aah's of the chorus. I used a pitch shift to double the two low parts an octave higher. They are not very audible but you would miss them if they were not there. A great song, and I love the vox Thanks Kara.
