Hi all,

even with far more less fee time I am sorry to see that I produce as much as before  Grin

I have made a quick acid jazz theme. I used here a free vst drum sounds bank to program the beat (but the ride cymbals are programmed with a buzz machine) same for the piano+pad sound, it's a free vst. The sax is a free soundfont. All other is buzz.

The vocal is a Gil Scott Heron sample. I dont really understand what is all about, but I liked his voice a lot.

Heron is the Bass :

Thanks to read!  Wink

A really happy feeling in it, and I liked that hm.... sax in the background?
I also loved that Drum Beat with that Ride, VERY beautiful..

Hi Magma
another relaxed one, very nice !

I used here a free vst drum sounds bank to program the beat

I can hear the difference from your usual drums sounds. You probably are trying to achieve a more realistic sound, as in the acid-jazz classics where you can hear acoustic drums. I agree. I would keep the kick softer, as in jazz style, (just my taste).
Good voice samples, they work great

Cheers

Hi Magma

I enjoyed this a lot - very nice chords and feel, and the vocal sample works very well in context. Good sax, too. Like others, I thought the kick drum might have been a little softer.

Thank you all!! I'm glad you liked it.

I agree with you, the kick is too loud, thanks a lot for pointing it  Wink

This was done very quickly. I like when inspiration flows so easily, even if I'm never satisfied.
But I guess I'm not the only one  Grin

Merci!!

stopped by for a listen.  Nice groove and mellow voice, are you a radio personality?  great mix.  really smooth.  bass has a nice deep tone, and moves.  oh and it ends.  short but sweet.

Good song, nice swing Magma and completly in your style.
Actually that sax sounds good and it has a  nice swinging bass.
A shame it so short.

Thanks for sharing

Nice chord progression in this one, I like it. I like the tune even better when the bass comes in. As usual a very nice groove. You're a master at that. Realisic sax by the way. If I ever I need a sax like that I know where to call

Thanks Martin!!

Yeah, I liked the idea of building a kind of tension in the first part, without bass, dryer, and then create a kind of release. It was hard to find the right sounds for the "release" part. Finaly it happens with the smooth and deep bass together with the "rainy" rides.

Thanks! I'm proud to read that because I use just a soundfont.

Yeah Magma, very nice.  The progression is really nice. There's more you can do with this, but its very good as is!

To tell you the truth, I like this tune even more than some of your other tunes recently.

No flaws that I can gripe about mixing wise.

That is a very accomplished computer voice you are using.  Aw, rats... it's too short...
