Having a real bad time with the arthritic fingers, at the moment, which is keeping me off the guitars so I been doing some file cleaning up, trying to tie loose ends.  Roll Eyes
Whilst dredging through old folders I found this collab which was never finalised  Cool
http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?topic=5827.0

I believe the problem occurred as young Paul (impablomations) decided to disappear  Lips Sealed
When I started looking into it I realised that there was actually very little to do.
The main problem was the mid section, so I took it out altogether and replaced it with a copy of the intro.
Did a bit of tweaking to levels and EQ's and so here it is, finally finished  Shocked

Life On The Slide.

Paul on guitars and drum kick, Thom on keys producing organ and bass and myself on vox, dobro and harp.

Sorry to hear about your arthritis problems. I'm sort-of fortunate in that it hits me in places that don't affect my musical work much (just everything else!)

I remember this from the old thread. It's still a seriously good bit of songcraft.

Good performance and production all round guys.

Wow....I completely forgot about this collab, but it is good to hear it once again. Cool I don't really care for poking around in the past too much anymore,as I don't like to think about how many members talked so highly of this forum and yet, they all just abandoned the forum like a turd.

I don't even bother anymore, wondering about whatever became of them, because they just don't want to be bothered.I had contacted Elv after he had disappeared and he did return my e-mail-but then afterwards,he blocked me from e-mailing him after that.

When I had contacted Martin,he was friendly enough about it,but his excuse for leaving the forum, was that too many other people were leaving the forum...it seems to me,that him leaving as well, didn't help matters at all. Roll Eyes

I think the most memorable incident on this forum, was when Andreas aka Katzafatz aka Soundklops, erased all of his posts & left the forum and then several months later returning to the forum and then disappearing again.

Most of the past members had a preference for the KVR forum-as for some reason,it's the Xanadu or Nirvana of the internet for them...for some reason.

 Cool
Thanks for the comments, Will ... I thought you would remember this as you made some positive comments at the time.

Thom.  I'm glad you remember this, too. Your contribution, in my opinion, is absolutely world class my friend. That organ and bass really set the sound for the whole song.  Kiss

As for your comments about members who disappear  Huh
I really don't know what has happened to Paul ... I know he has had major health problems but he has not contacted me, although we have corresponded from time to time.
Regarding other 'disappear-ees' ... you seem to have issues about them decamping to KVR but, in my experience I have almost never found any of those who have left kara-moon to be incumbent  over there.  Undecided
Personally I have a more than happy relationship with both of these forums. My true 'second home' is here, with my small family at kara-moon, but I very rarely have any issues with the bulk of the membership at KVR.  Cool

Happy abandon Cool - collaborative synergy in action wOO

Nice resolution in the new arrangement and remix, James!

My opinion on the ever-changing membership at Kara-Moon:
Coming to terms with our little "experiment" here (conceived and implemented by Kara and Moon) can be quite the mental/emotional exercise, because it is unique. There are no precedents, no recognized rules, very little "approved" context.
For many people, the experience of working so far beyond the comfortable boundaries of an accepted format is stressful - it can be subconsciously experienced as dangerous or unwise. At first the opportunity to work with new technology and unusual expressions of music feels stimulating - an artistic opportunity. But, over time, everyone but the truly adventurous and innovative fall by the wayside, overwhelmed by the shear weight of "no rules/no limits" session after session.
To be fair - I'm not saying that "retired" members of the forum lack creativity or a willingness to experiment, but that a steady diet of unconventional artistic endeavour can become uncomfortable over time.
To those of you who continue to walk the uncertain road toward innovation in digital audio and music composition, I salute you  wOO
To those who prefer a more structured context in which to create - drop by occasionally and show us some of your more adventurous work , or contribute to some whacked-out collaboration when the mood suits - it is, literally, all good.

Sorry Azell, we are playing with words - it does not translate!

merci pour les explications, je sais que vous avez beaucoup d'humour... moi aussi, mais en Français et quand je fais travailler google, ça ne veut pas dire la même chose, hélas!
thank you for the explanation, I know you have a lot of humor ... me too, but in French and when I google work, it does not mean the same thing, alas!
