Ooooooooooooooook!

A new dillema from Servetus. . .

I know that quite a few of you are avid field recorders- I enjoy sampling and want to get a bit moer serious about it.

So what sort of recorder should I get? I lean towards the flash drive concept because in my mind I think it would be more abusable.. (I'm rough on, well, everything) ..I don't know much at all though. Please educate me.

Well it depends what you're looking for. If you want something small and portable without fantom power, just go for a boss Micro or the Boss 600. I have the Micro, Kara has the 600 and we are both very happy with this unit. They use SD cards, but you can record uncompressed.  The recordings are very clean. I know Kara is recording a lot with it.

I also know that the recorders of Korg are good, but have no experience with them. I know Kara is in love with the D3200, but the pricetag is preventing him from getting it (or was it miss P?  Cheesy

Zoom has some nice devices, but beware: you usaully get what you're paying for (and since these are cheaper...)

Also check out the tascam devices. I never used a tascam, but know that many people are happy with it.

Ahhhhh, as much versatility as I can have. Tongue

I would like to record some concerts, but that's a low priority- more percussion samples, ambient sounds, and vocals.

*shrugs* Just saving pennies right now. >.<
