Whether one is an avid video game player...or a casual one,I think you will find the technology behind this game..utterly fascinating!

No Man's Sky is an entirely open platform, which allows the gamer to explore the universe..i.e..interstellar travel by way of warping and thereby having the ability to explore every star, planet and region of space.

The most exciting aspect of this game,is that...for instance, when you visit a planet, the content of that planet is generated by an algorithm..using a mathematical equation.
By this method of programming, the content created is not only non-random...it is content that is not stored anywhere on the disc,or the HD of the console.
So...in other words, the content of said planet is generated as you approach the planet, but will disappear when you exit the planet. However though...if you return to the same planet later, that same content will be generated...so in effect, what you had seen previously, will be there again, just as it was.

That was extremely interesting!

This technology could change the way games are played.
