Who? Me?

Well, I'm up bright and early this morning!

Here's another, quite different, tune that I hope you will like.

The idea for the melody came to me vary many years ago when I saw a beautifully detailed glass ship in full sail. First, I tried making a 4 track recording which was pretty abysmal, but at least fixed the melody in my mind.

It wan't until 1992 that technology gave me the tools to make a sensible recording on my (then very new) Yamamha SY22 - I later upgraded to an SY35.

Recently when I'd got my website under development I revised this tune, and transferred all the instruments to ZynAddSubFX.

The percussion is a bit weak, but then that's always my worst feature Sad

Incidentally, I make ogg-voris copies of all my music as well, but I'm only putting mp3s on hare as that seems to be what most people have access to.

That is a beautiful piece, the percussion is just right in my view. If you must change anything, you may consider a slight upping of the maracas volume. Great description of a crystal ship.

This is a wonderful melody.  I can see the glass ship, but also it reminds me of riding a carousel.

Thank you very much for your comments.

->zyben. Listening again I think I see what you mean. I'm working on other stuff at the moment but next time I look at it I'll see what effect this has!

->kara. I may have to change one instrument completely here. I call it 'Ethereal' and it can sound a bit shrill. It's also slightly unpredictable as there is a random element that means no two recordings sound exactly alike. I'm reluctant to do any overall filtering to the current recording as I think that would muddy the other instruments, especially the percussion.

Still, I will give it another look, and thanks for your comments.
