I wish I knew what we could do to liven things up a bit. Nothing even happening on our 10 year CD project. This is just so sad.

FWIW-My music computer has been down for a few of weeks now as I rebuild it. A couple of new DOA HDs have put a damper on the rebuild. I now have everything back together but I have a few problems with the Win 10 upgrade.  Once I get that straightened away I will back everything up and be back in business.  But next week I go on vacation/holiday for a week so it could be a few more weeks before I am back in business.

Yes.
I finally got myself into gear (a bit) in order to try for more involvement over here but ......  is it me? Am I scaring everyone off?

I still come here every day, as a moderator, and reject an average of 40 false registrations. I'd rather be spending that time contributing music as none of the other mods seem to be working!

Still trying to find time for your piece Will. Get there soon, I hope.

James.

Yes James, you're really scary! )

Sorry people - I have been really really quiet too, As with any social medium, once you start being away for longer then it's harder to get back and catch up with everything. Not much news anyway, even my 87PM Facebook page hasn't been updated in a while.

Currently I'm experimenting with jamming/creating tracks on the fly as opposed to arranging in a sequencer and I tried live streaming on YouTube which is pretty cool and relatively easy to do.

Nice to see you here Marc.

Although we seem to have been hit especially hrd here on KM, there seems to be a general malaise. The KVR cafe contest has been bumping along the bottom for a while. On SC a lot of previously prolific musicians have virtually disappeared. Although you can probably cite specific reasons for each, the trend does seem rather disturbing Cry

Hey folks..I must apologize for my absence...as I've gone through some major life changes and I've been struggling to cope and recover....but I'm back....a bit jaded still, but nonetheless  back.Also...a while ago,I cleared out my browser's cache and in the process,my K-M's login info was deleted.
The only way I was able to get back in,was to look up one of my old e-mail address's that contained links to K-M.I still haven't come up with anything for the latest K-M project....but then,I haven't really done much in the way of music overall.

Well, it's really puzzling. Over on KVR there were a total of just nine entries for this month's competition (including my own). Considering the topic that's staggeringly low Cry

As I mentioned before, a lot of once regulars on SC have virtually disappeared too, so they are not going there. Where are all the musos disappearing to?

Speaking for myself. I been really busy of late with a bunch of 'home stuff'.
That's not really an excuse though.
I'm thoroughly disheartened here right now.
Even when I've been bust elsewhere I have always checked in here in my moderator role to try and keep things ticking along, especially after we had that huge cyber attack a while back.
When Moon recently tried to revive things with the 10 year project I decided to get back to being involved.

At that same time, when Moon looked like he was coming back into the fold, he made some registration changes to get new members. Since then I have been the only Mod who has kept involved, deleting on average 40 to 60 spam accounts PER DAY.
As no-one else was bothered I stopped this two weeks ago as it takes up so much time. The total of members 'waiting approval' is now standing at 582 which goes to prove that nobody else gives a Sh** about the place.
I'm letting it build until someone else takes notice.
At this point in time I am still here every day to make sure that all is safe and secure but I sometimes wonder why I bother.
If anyone is still interested in new music I am still at it when time allows but, frankly, posting it here now is only for you few guys to listen to as I don't feel any of us want to collab here these days.

Sorry. Didn't mean to rant!

I don't even know what other moderators are still here Sad
When we had the major spam attack previously I asked if I could join the moderator team to help out, but never got a response. Then things seemed to die down anyway.

I at least take a quick look in here most days so would be more than happy to give a hand, especially if we are risking losing genuine newbies simply be not checking them out Sad

As far as I'm aware there are now only Moon, myself and Neon (who is here very infrequently these days) since Oren moved on.
When these new members ask to join I have to go through them and look at the user names and e-mail addresses. Most of these are formulaic, as if they are 'bot' generated, but sometimes there are some that look genuine. When I see them I give approval then check back over the next couple of weeks to see what they do. Mostly they do nothing but sometimes, after approval, they add dubious links to porn of ad-ware. I then delete them.
It all takes time and with 40-60 per day it mounts up.
Moon has disappeared for a while now and I have got fed up with it so the list is now up to 590.
Maybe we'll never hear from him again now we are out of Europe  Evil

Ever since I've joined,Moon made himself pretty scarce and mainly Rony was running the show. What has really bothered me,is that although both Moon and Rony had busy lives,Rony always made time for K-M and was always heavily involved, when Moon never was all that much.
I really don't know exactly what Oren's issues were and when I had asked him to return to K-M as a general member(rather than a moderator)...he still wouldn't budge. It's not right that James is bogged down with so much work.
I'm sorry...but as for my interest in the Project and me as one of the moderators...well...I just can't get into the spirit of collaborating anymore, because I can't get inspired with virtually no one here and as for the hardware section, there's nothing to moderate and there's no point in me writing reviews on hardware, because there is no one around to read them.

I was always a loner, when it came to writing music, but as I settled into K-M,I realized what a rare privilege it was and how fulfilling collaborating could be,but the spirit of that is all but disappeared for me now.
I've always had a dark cloud over my head, since Rony and Wyatt passed and ever since Oren left,I often debated over whether I should continue as a member here.At this point,I'm just interested in going it alone, with writing music and just sharing my songs and sharing my thoughts about other member's songs and that's it.

I've tried so many times,to draw new members into K-M and always to no avail. The internet is replete with musicians that mainly want to talk about gear and software & not much else and when it comes to sharing music, most everyone wants recognition for their own tunes, but doesn't want to be bother recognizing anyone else's songs and the one special place on the internet that is all about sharing music,is virtually nonexistent.
All people care about(for the most part)..is KVRaudio and what really pisses me off,is that the only interest that some of the KVR members have in K-M,is to get some feedback from some of the members here(during the contents that take place there)...which is why I will NEVER participate in the KVR contests.

Since I last mentioned this, a month ago, I have watched the waiting list rise day after day.
I finally got fed up with seeing it so I just been in and deleted 993 waiters.
I think this just goes to show that no-one else is doing any admin at all around here anymore!

I would be more than willing to join the moderators. I've probably got more free time than most people, but HOW do I get on the list?

There's only Moon who can do that ..... and the reason I been doing all this stuff is that he seems to be ignoring us these days.
He's never been heard of since starting off the Ten Year project (which now seems to have foundered).
