Title: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on May 23, 2008, 11:52:38 AM As some of you already know, Percy TKNX and I are working on an album called Ocean Coast (in our collaboration project 87PM). We're delighted to announce that the album - after years of work and refining - is finally set to be released this july! Currently, all tracks are mixed and we've asked Oren and Rharv from YourBestSound.com to do the mastering which they've agreed to do. Seeing their quality work with the In A Spin CD we are delighted that they jumped on board!
The album spans a wide range of styles - sometimes even within the tracks - but the general, connecting theme is that of a civilization that lives under water. A world where land based life is mythical and the harsh, ever changing nature of the deep sea all too familiar. The ocean is meant both as a vision of a different world and as a metaphor. As a preview we're including the track list and as an attach the cover of the album. Previews of the first two tracks are available in our 87pm artist page on Kara Moon (although these are the unmastered ones). Ocean Coast - track list: 1. Oceanic Waves 2. Oceanic Dreams 3. Ocean Explorer 4. Coral Plains 5. Gulf Stream 6. Voice Of The Oceans 7. Dark Ocean 8. Blue Ascension 9. Ocean 10. Coast We're still discussing release strategies although it will at least be distributed as a download through the great webshop support of Kara-Moon, where we'll also shortly be opening a website. Expect more info and tasters for the tracks soon! Marc JX8P & Percy TKNX Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Oren on May 23, 2008, 01:42:49 PM Woh! Mastering with JAMin as a JACK client brings all the capabilities of Ardour into the picture. Big, very big ;D. Then, add to that the ability to numerically verify tonal values, compression quality, and input/output levels. Heaven, I have arrived... :; Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on June 04, 2008, 09:58:34 PM A small change to the tracklist: one extra track has been added called Gulf Stream, an up tempo synth track combining material from this project with melodies that Percy and I first came up with about 15 years ago...
Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on June 23, 2008, 01:06:32 PM Been a bit absent from the forum as both Percy and I have been practicing a lot for our mini-concert the 5th of july. I'm both anxious and very exited about this as I haven't got much live experience (although Percy has, so hopefully he'll be able to compensate for that! ;)).
Anyway, we'll be playing six tracks (two of 'em combined, so technically five) and the final three will be assisted by a guitarist and drummer which we had a practice session with last weekend and which really sounded great. We'll be recording the performance itself so at some point you'll be able to check it out (whether you want to or not! ;)). We also found a good deal on the cd manufacturing... Looks like it'll not only be downloadable! :- After the concert that I'll be visiting the forums more often again. Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: kara on June 23, 2008, 02:38:18 PM I'm realy looking forward to that, since I'll be the KM member who will actually be there :-

I'm sure you'll do just fine and am looking forward to the video ! ;) Moon Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on July 07, 2008, 09:14:08 AM Just a short post to confirm that everything went great and a special thanks to Kara for bringing his pa equipment and his expertise for getting a great sound. We're still recuperating a bit but both video and audio recordings have been made and we plan to get them online soon (though it may happen in stages as I need to get some experience with the video editing software I'll use). Anyway, we also have the tracks mastered now (once again, great work, Oren and Bob!) so the cd is nearly ready for production too... Exciting times!
Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Oren on July 07, 2008, 04:50:51 PM So, now you guys are a touring band and have a road crew?!
I'm so jealous :; Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on July 17, 2008, 09:09:35 PM We're still waiting for the videos and audio materials to come in, but we've already started to get the pictures that were made that night. There are (many) more but we'll get to those later, in the mean time here are three pics of 87pm in action! :-

I hope you'll post the video of 87PM playing live, I was very impressed how you played those songs live k Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on July 29, 2008, 07:31:01 PM Thanks! Though I have to add once again that your work on the pa system allowed us to concentrate on playing and get it right. It was very fun to do - I was very stressed before but once it all started rolling it really worked out. We'll definitely post the video, but I'm still waiting for the tape to get transferred to digital so I can start editing it.

How about the CD? Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on September 23, 2008, 02:37:30 PM Unfortunately I'm still waiting for the converted video files. The CD is coming along well, but we are thinking of going an alternative route for pressing which will take a while to research. However I have every confidence that we'll see a cd this year! ;)
I'm also happy to report that we've started writing material for the next one and it promises to have a totally different sound to it which is very exciting. We've changed our composing process a bit and it's very inspiring. Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on February 19, 2009, 07:11:36 PM We're extremely proud to announce that finally, at last, our album is there in the form of 500 freshly pressed cd's, ready for new owners! ;D

This is a major accomplishment. Congratulations on one of the most tasteful collections of digital music I've ever heard. :- Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: kara on February 20, 2009, 10:04:32 AM :- :- This is a MUST HAVE CD !!!!! :-
k Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on February 20, 2009, 05:25:59 PM Since we want to think a bit about how to set up a good looking web form, we thought that as an intermediary measure we'd start taking orders just by email.
So - here goes :) : if you are interested in our cd please mail to 87pm.music@gmail.com stating how many copies you would like and the address we can send them. Please also specify how you would like to pay. We will contact you and confirm your order (please do not pay before we have confirmed your order and asked you to!). If you live outside of Europe, we will check how much the mailing will cost to see if we need to charge for that although we probably won't if it isn't much. Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Moon on February 20, 2009, 06:09:35 PM CONGRATS !
Making a complete full finished CD is quiet an accomplishment. A FANTASTIC JOB !!! Can't wait to recieve a copy ! :-* Moon Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on February 21, 2009, 07:31:58 PM Thanks for the positive response, guys! We should also add that we've updated our website at http://ocean-coast.kara-moon.com/ (http://ocean-coast.kara-moon.com/), both in content and in looks. We've added css formatting to the original html to allow for some cool (albeit subtle) formatting as well as easier adaptability.
Title: Re: New album by 87PM (Marc JX8P and Percy TKNX): Ocean Coast Post by: Marc JX8P on March 02, 2009, 03:55:55 PM I did a little gig in Second Life again this saturday, though unfortunately without Percy who couldn't be there. As I had some computer troubles that made setting up my system from scratch neccessary this was not as carefree as my first gigs were, but aside from some unexpected nervousness I really enjoyed playing and so did the others who attended. The cool thing is that I was able to get myself a virtual Fantom Xa which my avatar in Second Life was playing while I was playing the real thing! :) SL is a great place to play, lots of nice feedback and I even did get an order for our new cd! :-
