Title: Sampler help Post by: offthewall on February 11, 2007, 11:03:35 PM Hi folks,
I have a couple of free-ware samplers, latest being discoDSPHighlife, and various samples......but I don't know how to use them!!!! I'm an old-timer who has arrived at computer stuff rather late. I can find my way round most applications yet find that I'm stumped with samplers. I know what they have to do... but, in general, how to load samples, assign them to certain keys, then play them back from the keyboard.......mystery. Having looked through the manual for Highlife, it only tells you how to 'tweak things' if you already know how to use it. What I am looking for is....can any of you experts guide me to a simple tutoring website, or other such set of 'basic' instructions? Thanks ::) Title: Re: Sampler help Post by: kara on February 12, 2007, 06:46:23 AM If you want a good universal sampler, I would suggest you get vsampler.
Plenty of possibilities, not very expensive, a good lot of very good banks here on kara-moon 8) and a very good manual You can try it before you buy from www.vsampler.com. You can allso download the manual from : http://www.maz-sound.com/index.php?show=product&id=2& It has allso the advantage that it can import directly various sample banks formats. And if you have questions, I'll be able to help you, I use it myself as universal sampler 8) Title: Re: Sampler help Post by: offthewall on February 12, 2007, 10:49:26 PM Thanks Kara,
but I'm afraid £65 is way out of my league! :'( I have freeware stuff....I just need to know how to use it. :-\ Title: Re: Sampler help Post by: kara on February 13, 2007, 06:22:45 AM in general the problem isn't to find a free Vsti, the problem is to find a freeware with a manual ;)
Freeware developpers love to develop but hate to write manuals. I've found a free alternatif for you : http://www.kotkasuniverse.com/paax_index.htm You can download the free version and allso the manual of the pro-version which works the same way as the free one but has a couple more features. I hope this helps Title: Re: Sampler help Post by: offthewall on February 13, 2007, 02:27:24 PM Thanks Kara,
Helpful, as usual. ;D I'll check this out when I have time. ;) |
