Hi All,

Been away for quite a while, but now i'm back. Hope everyone is keeping well and making lots of music.  Grin

This is my latest track. It's a mini-concept track in 3 parts about the adventure of a gnome. ( iknow it's silly, but so am i  Grin

This is a bit different to my usual electronic tracks as i'm playing some guitars and my newly aquired bass guitar which i'm still in the early stages of learning as i've never had one before.

Here's the details of my silly concept:
A day in the life of an adventurous gnome in three parts:
a) Rise and shine (time to get up, busy day ahead)
b) Gnome's big day out (into the big wide world)
c) Exhausted, time for bed (gnome lullaby)

 Hope you enjoy it.  Grin

Very different, fun music. The three parts fit together very smoothly, while retaining their own distinct character. I do belive this might just find its way into me keep folder Grin

P.S.
For someone who is 'just learning' the bass, you're doing a damn good job wOO

Blipp,

Good God man....this is wonderful!

It's like a rock/jazz overture....an incredible interplay of bass,guitar & drums...with some mesmerizing backround accompaniment tracks....really superb!!

I know that "Travelocity" would pay you a fortune to use your music for their commercials, but only if they decide to make a infomercial on cable television,as it's just too long in length! Grin Grin

This is really an epic piece of music & this is certainly going into my file folder for keeps!! wOO

Thanks. It's a jazz bass copy so it's got a nice, slim neck that's quite nice for my smallish hands.  Grin

Hi Blib, great to see you back here, we've missed you

I hear you didn't loose any inspiration, which is cool.
Those bass lines are good man, if you're still in a learning phase you'll become very good !

I like your new style, very jazzy  Cool Stick to that style ad you're underway for a new album

Hi Kara, nice to be back.  Grin

Thanks for the kind words, glad you liked it.    Smiley

Yeah i seem to have took to the bass pretty quickly, although i can't yet play with my fingers, i use a pick.   I'm enjoying this new style so i hope to be making more music similar to this in the future.

Thanks.   Smiley

Hi blip, it’s all been said.

This is extremely good music. Super bass lines here especially for a so-called beginner.  You sound very polished to me. My wife bought me a P-Bass copy for Christmas – I’ve got to start practicing with a pick as all I’ve managed to do is to put blisters on my thumb  Sad

While a lot has been said about your bass playing I think that your guitar parts here really excel.  Super job on the axe.

Just wanted to say I'm glad someone of the old crew is back in town. Sadly enough we've seen too many talented guys disappear from this forum. Can't comment on the track now since I'm at work.

Anyways, welcome back Blipp

Great stuff, Blipp. You've been practising the guitar and bass a bit I presume. Really love the second and third part.

Big thanks for your kind words Mario and Martin, really appreciate them. This has encouraged me to pick up the guitar and bass more often in future.

Cheers.  ps: for the gear heads, the guitar was a squier custom telecaster II playing into guitar rig 3.

Yep on my thumb.

I have rheumatoid arthritis that has messed up my middle finger of my right (picking) hand.  It’s disfigured (at an angle and swollen) and sometimes hurts when I bend it. (It’s getting better but it will never be perfect, I don’t think). Hence I can not use my fingers like “real” bass players at this stage of the game. Thankfully that is the only joint that got messed up.

O I understand now, luckily I didn't answer that you shouldn't use your thumb when you play bass ....

Excellent imaginative work, Blipp.
I like the jazz-rock vibe throughout the track, I enjoyed 1st section very much, perfect mix, great bass-work.
The 2nd sections runs very smooth, same style different phrasing approach.
Good drums variations. Nice sounds, again.

This is a fine fantasy-themed music suite. Well done !  Cool

Cheers
