Several months ago,some folks on the Yamaha forums where hoping for a lite version of the old Motif XS series and Yamaha delivered-big time!!

I've always admired the Motif XS series,but it was a bit expensive and there were just too many choices out there in the 2 to $3,000 range,for me to settle on the Yamaha at that time.

Now however,Yamaha has done the most extraordinary thing,which was to deliver all of the grandeur of the XS series and stuff it into a highly portable,expandable and very affordable package....holy sh*t!
 Shocked

The MOX6 not only has the full XS engine,but the 355MB of factory installed ROM,which is nothing short of a pioneering achievement in this price range...no one and I mean no other company has ever offered so much,for a modest price tag of $1,199!!

I mean,the list goes on & on...well over a thousand presets,as well as including Cubase AI with some VST's.

It's not just the XS,it's also a complete and seamless midi controller with semi-weighted keys,a surface controller and an audio interface that records midi and audio via the USB port!
I went absolutely nuts over the MOX6,searching and viewing all of the demo videos I could find and the integration between the keyboard and the DAW it comes with is breathtaking!

One of the features I am very pleased with,is the modest,but very significant improvements in the LCD screen,in contrast to the old MO6....which is that the MOX6 has a different color scheme that is much easier on the eyes and the display screen is angled toward the user.
The most amazing aspect of the MOX6,is that for a mere $100 more than the price of the Korg M50,the MOX6 offers a vast world of features that make the MOX6 the most complete music workstation ever created for the price!
The Korg M50 was a great music tool for what it was for me,but there was no audio/midi software,no usable piano sounds and the only real advantage over the MOX6,was the 4" X 5" touchscreen display....but with the included DAW software,no one should feel slighted by the modest display screen on the MOX6.

A huge plus for me also,is that the MOX series's DAW control is unlike anything I have ever seen,in that there is no tedious transitions from keyboard mode to PC mode...whereas with other keyboards,it's one mode or the other.

This is such a beautiful keyboard appearance-wise also,as it's very elegant and the phalanx of dials,knobs and buttons make it a tweakers dream....wow,I am really blown away by this keyboard.
As a matter of fact,I retract my oath to never buy hardware again,as this item is on my do or die list of things to buy in the future!

Here are a couple of Sonic State vids that are very comprehensive and very enjoyable to watch;

Yes, this is a very interesting modern keyboard with the right specs. It's pretty mush allround, usefull in the studio and on stage where you can easily set it up with a computer for live performance. I like this one very much.
